The growing global health challenge of  Candida infections 🍄
Candida infections are increasingly recognized as a significant global health threat, with  7 out of 10 cases  attributed to Candida albicans, Candida glabrata, and Candida tropicalis.
This alarming trend results in approximately  200,000 deaths  each year due to invasive and disseminated disease, particularly among susceptible populations.
WHO Surveillance Priority
 C. auris and C. albicans have been designated as Critical Priority Fungal Pathogens by the World Health Organization, highlighting the urgent need for enhanced surveillance and prevention measures.
