Las opciones de tratamiento para los pacientes infectados con ERC son muy limitadas. Se han reportado brotes nosocomiales de ERC. Los pacientes colonizados con ERC se cree que son una fuente de transmisi\u00f3n en el entorno m\u00e9dico. La identificaci\u00f3n de los pacientes que est\u00e1n colonizados con ERC y su aislamiento puede ser un paso importante en la prevenci\u00f3n de la transmisi\u00f3n \u00bb<\/i><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">CHROMagar\u2122<sup>&nbsp;<\/sup>lanz\u00f3 en 2007 el primer medio cromog\u00e9nico para la detecci\u00f3n de bacterias resistentes a carbapenem, enfocado particularmente en las enzimas-KPC. Desde entonces, muchas otras carbapenemasas se han extendido por todo el mundo surgiendo la necesidad de abordar la dif\u00edcil detecci\u00f3n de carbapemasas de bajo nivel.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Alain Rambach y Patrice Nordmann han aunado sus esfuerzos para desarrollar un medio cromog\u00e9nico de alta sensibilidad, CHROMagar\u2122 mSuperCARBA\u2122, la nueva generaci\u00f3n de medios cromog\u00e9nicos que alcanza un rendimiento sin precedentes: la detecci\u00f3n de una gran variedad de carbapenemasas KPC, NDM, VIM, IMP, OXA ... con un impresionante l\u00edmite de detecci\u00f3n (10 UFC\/mL) incluso para carbapenemasas de bajo nivel como OXA-48, al tiempo que mantiene un alto nivel de selectividad.<\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vce-text-block performance-heading\"><div class=\"vce-text-block-wrapper vce\" id=\"el-8a35a787\" data-vce-do-apply=\"all el-8a35a787\"><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Aplicaci\u00f3n&nbsp;<\/b><\/p><p>&nbsp;<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">CHROMagar\u2122 mSuperCARBA\u2122 es un medio de cultivo cromog\u00e9nico selectivo y diferencial, destinado a la detecci\u00f3n cualitativa directa de la colonizaci\u00f3n gastrointestinal con Enterobacterias resistentes a los carbapenemes (ERC), incluidos los productores de OXA-48, para ayudar en la prevenci\u00f3n y el control de ERC en entornos sanitarios. La prueba se realiza en muestras de frotis rectal y heces de pacientes para detectar la colonizaci\u00f3n por ERC. Los resultados pueden interpretarse tras 18-24 h de incubaci\u00f3n aer\u00f3bica a 35-37 \u00b0C.<\/p><p>&nbsp;<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">CHROMagar\u2122 mSuperCARBA\u2122 no est\u00e1 pensado para diagnosticar la infecci\u00f3n por ERC ni para guiar ni monitorizar el tratamiento de las infecciones. La falta de crecimiento o la ausencia de colonias en CHROMagar\u2122 mSuperCARBA\u2122 no excluye la presencia de ERC. Es necesario realizar una identificaci\u00f3n adicional, pruebas de susceptibilidad y tipificaci\u00f3n epidemiol\u00f3gica en las colonias sospechosas.<\/p><\/div><\/div><div
