De manera com\u00fan, las especies de <i>Candida<\/i> est\u00e1n implicadas en infecciones superficiales orofaringeas y urogenitales sobre todo en personas inmunodeprimidas como personas de edad avanzada y victimas del SIDA.\u00abEl diagn\u00f3stico precoz es esencial para el manejo efectivo temprano de los pacientes\u00bb. (Directrices de la OMS sobre procedimientos operativos est\u00e1ndar para el diagn\u00f3stico de laboratorio de infecciones oportunistas por VIH).<\/p><br>&nbsp;<br><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Aunque <i>C. albicans <\/i>sigue siendo la especie de mayor relevancia, otros tipos como <i>C. tropicalis, C. krusei<\/i> o <i>C. glabrata<\/i> han incrementado proporcionalmente a medida que nuevos agentes angif\u00fangicos trabajaban eficazmente contra <i>C. albicans<\/i>. Esto muestra la importancia de la elecci\u00f3n de terapia antif\u00fangica adecuada para una detecci\u00f3n precisa&nbsp;<\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vce-text-block performance-heading\"><div class=\"vce-text-block-wrapper vce\" id=\"el-00cace8d\" data-vce-do-apply=\"all el-00cace8d\"><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Aplicaci\u00f3n :<\/b><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">CHROMagar\u2122 Candida es un medio de cultivo cromog\u00e9nico selectivo destinado a la detecci\u00f3n cualitativa directa, la diferenciaci\u00f3n y la identificaci\u00f3n presuntiva de especies de <i>Candida<\/i>. La prueba se realiza en muestras de frotis de piel, de garganta, de o\u00eddos y vaginal, as\u00ed como con muestras de esputo, orina y heces, en paralelo a los cultivos en agar Sabouraud, para ayudar al diagn\u00f3stico de la candidiasis.
